The club’s next sign waving will be on Saturday, July 18 from 9 until 11 am.
Our club is once again partnering with Just Us Volusia for the “Good Trouble Lives On” rally which is part of a National Weekend of Action (July 17-19). The rally is based on the term “good trouble” coined by American politician and civil rights leader John Lewis, who died on July 17, 2020.
Club member, Founder and President of Just Us Volusia, Kelly Czajkowsi, will discuss their upcoming rally at our July meeting.
They need help!
Can you donate water or bring bottled water or ice in coolers? It is summer and sign-wavers need to be hydrated with the very warm July temperatures. They also need extra volunteers to keep an eye on the crowd, handing out water, reminding people to take breaks in the shade and to sit down so they don’t suffer heat related problems.
If anyone has a medical background such as a doctor, nurse, EMT, or medic that can help in case people start feeling sick, that would be very helpful. If you are interested in helping, you can speak to Kelly after the meeting or contact her via e-mail: Kelly@justus-volusia.com

There is ample free parking around City Hall, Beach Street, and side streets. I recommend getting there early and carpooling.
Recommendations
John Lewis worked tirelessly for voting rights and T-shirts and signs reflecting his life’s work would be very appropriate.
It is important to bring your own sign, water (very important!), hat, sunglasses, comfy shoes, sunscreen, a chair (if you need it), and please wear your club T-shirt.
If you don’t have a club T-shirt you can have your very own PODC T-shirt to wear to the rally for a $20 donation. All sizes are available and will be available at the meeting. You don’t need a sign to take part! American, Pride, and MIA flags are always welcome.
